H&H Leadership Solutions invites you to explore an exciting opportunity for the Director of Revenue Cycle at Mt. Grant General Hospital, a community-focused Critical Access Hospital committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services across rural Nevada. This newly created leadership position offers the opportunity to build, lead, and strengthen revenue cycle operations while supporting the financial health and long-term sustainability of the organization.
Nestled in the heart of west-central Nevada, Mt. Grant General Hospital serves the residents of Mineral County through its 11-bed Critical Access Hospital, 24-bed Skilled Nursing Facility, Rural Health Clinic, swing-bed program, and a wide range of outpatient and ancillary services. The organization is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care close to home while preserving access to healthcare in a rural frontier community.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Revenue Cycle will provide hands-on leadership for patient access, health information management, coding, billing, collections, denials management, cash posting, reimbursement optimization, and revenue integrity across the health system. This role was created to provide focused leadership and strategic direction for revenue cycle operations while helping improve performance, strengthen processes, and support future growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Cycle Leadership
Lead all aspects of revenue cycle operations, including patient access, coding, billing, collections, denials, cash posting, and reimbursement optimization.
Develop and monitor key performance metrics including A/R days, denial rates, clean claim rates, cash collections, and revenue integrity measures.
Identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies to increase efficiency, cash flow, and reimbursement performance.
Develop meaningful reporting and dashboards for executive leadership and Board review.
2. Revenue Integrity & Compliance
Ensure accurate coding, charging, documentation, and billing practices across all service lines.
Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinic, skilled nursing, and payer requirements.
Coordinate responses to payer audits, reviews, appeals, and regulatory inquiries.
Support Medicare Cost Report preparation and revenue-related financial reporting.
3. Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and support the HIM/Coding Manager and Business Office Manager while fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence.
Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop staff to achieve organizational goals.
Establish cross-training and workflow documentation to ensure operational continuity.
4. Strategic Initiatives
Participate in planning for the organization's future Rural Health Clinic expansion in Tonopah.
Serve as the revenue cycle lead for a potential future Epic implementation project, helping ensure successful planning, testing, training, and go-live support.
Partner with executive leadership to align revenue cycle strategy with organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Accounting, Health Information Management, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible hospital revenue cycle experience, including leadership responsibility.
Strong knowledge of hospital billing, reimbursement, denials management, coding, and revenue cycle operations.
Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
Preferred
Master's degree in a related field.
Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinic, skilled nursing, or rural healthcare experience.
Experience with EHR or patient accounting system conversions.
Professional certifications such as HFMA CRCR/CHFP, AAHAM CRCE, AHIMA RHIA/RHIT/CCS, or AAPC CPC/COC.
